1. Keep the main thing the main thing. 
You’re fundraising, so don’t get distracted. And don’t distract donors with other fundraising asks like bequests or crowdfunding side-projects. They need you to show them why your big EOFY campaign is so important RIGHT NOW.

2. Keep your eyes on the data so you can drive to the goal.
Donors like to know how much of your EOFY goal has come in to-date. Your accurate reporting generates trust, and is also an opportunity for your donor to see the real difference their gift can make.

A modern day re-telling of the book of Job will be filmed in Sydney soon.

Filming of the a new Christian feature film ‘Trust’ will begin June 13 in Sydney’s northern beaches and inner city area.

Written and Directed by Angus Benfield and Produced by Lyle Carey, ‘Trust’ is inspired by the Biblical story of Job centred around a typical everyday Australian family.

Community radio suffered badly in the budget.

The Federal Budget will see a decrease in funding support for the sector of $1.4 million p.a. – funding that keeps community radio stations broadcasting on digital in 5 capital cities.

Community radio’s standing alongside public and commercial broadcasters is at risk.

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia has launched a campaign to Keep the Community in Your Radio, seeking signatures on a petition calling on both the Coalition and Labor to restore funding to keep community radio on digital.

Birgit Myaard receives 2nd runner up Kairos prize at 2016 MovieGuide Awards_300x150Congratulations to Australian-based screenwriter Birgit Myaard on winning a $10,000 prize at the 2016 MovieGuide Awards.

Birgit’s script ‘The Hand of a Woman’ won the 2016 Kairos Prize 2nd Runner Up award.

The Kairos Prizes for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays aims to encourage screenwriting newcomers by awarding a total of $50,000 to the top three entries.

Birgit was presented with the award at the annual MovieGuide Awards in LA on February 5th.

The movie stars Joseph Fiennes as Roman soldier Clavius who is ordered to find out what happened to Jesus after he was crucified, to disprove rumours that the Messiah had risen from death, and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

Kidding Around Studio 1 Tim Dylan ElliotA radio program created by junior volunteers at Pulse94.1 has been selected for CBAA’s CRN Segments.

Three 12-year old boys host a weekly comedy segment called “Kidding Around” at the Wollongong station. Their three-minute show, produced by Katie Staples, has been chosen in round 2 of the CBAA program, to be content supplied to community radio stations around Australia via the Community Radio Network.

CMA will this month launch the inaugural benchmarking survey for member radio stations.

To be launched in the next two weeks, this survey will be the first annual benchmarking survey for the sector, assisting Christian Media Australia plan how to serve members in greater ways into the future. It will also help develop annual benchmarks for the sector that will be valuable in the years to come.

Depending on the requirements of your organisation, this might include developing strategic, operational, business and/or marketing plans.

Grants of up to $8,000 can be used towards facilitators, resources, meeting venues, software – whatever you need to help put your plan together.
