Rhema Media is a 100% New Zealand-owned, private, ‘not for profit’ media entity. The group operates multiple radio networks, nationwide television, publishes in print, and is engaged in a wide range of digital media.
Its vision is to make it possible for all people in New Zealand to access content that encourages a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, in the right format, at the right time.
Rhema Media has its roots in a vision for national Christian radio by founding CEO Richard Berry in the early 1960s. In 1978 it became the first permanent Christian radio station in the British Commonwealth. Over the years it has grown to become New Zealand’s largest Christian media organisation. As a legal entity it is a Charitable Incorporated Society and is administered by a Board of elected and ex-officio members.
With our CEO moving on, the Board seeks to appoint a new CEO, who will take the organisation to the next stage of growth and development.
Rhema Media is searching for an inspirational leader who is passionate about seeing the Gospel of Jesus communicated to the people of New Zealand. The successful applicant will have: collaborative leadership skills; a proven track record in the disciplines of management; business and financial acumen; a clear understanding of the role of not-for-profits; highly developed communications skills including those required for advocacy, negotiation, the written word and public speaking. Experience in the media would be advantageous.
The Board sees the appointment of senior leaders at Rhema Media as a ‘calling’ as distinct from a simple matching of skills, experience and character. To this end a rigorous interview and appointment process will be utilised.
The upcoming CEO vacancy is a rare opportunity for an individual to become involved as the senior executive leader of an exceptional organisation which has the support of its large community of stakeholders.
