Apply for a Volunteer Grant before December 20Individuals or Organisations representing volunteer based community groups are eligible for up to $5,000 in Government Funding.

Up to $10 million is currently available for Volunteer Grants in 2016. Eligible organisations and individuals can apply before December 20 for funding amounts of between $1,000 and $5,000.

The application process is very simple and money is intended for you to use it in ways that will help your volunteers.

Applications for a new grant opportunity are now open to assist community broadcasting organisations to plan for the future.

Depending on the requirements of your organisation, this might include developing strategic, operational, business and/or marketing plans.

Grants of up to $8,000 can be used towards facilitators, resources, meeting venues, software – whatever you need to help put your plan together.

We have five full registrations to CONNECT16 including the gala dinner plus the Link Symposium and one nights accommodation to give away to new-to-attend board Chairs of CMA Member Radio Stations.

This special grant is available to the first five stations to apply.

We also have a further five free registrations to the LINK Symposium plus overnight accommodation to any Chairman of CMA member radio stations.

The CBF will launch the new Planning Assistance Grants in early February.

The Community Broadcasting Foundation has developed a new grant to help stations and sector bodies plan for the future.

The new Planning Assistance Grants will open on Feb 10th, with $10,000 available in the first round. Organisations can apply for up to $8000 to pay for consultants and facilitators, meeting venues, software, references and resources, project management.

cbf-webApply for up to $20,000 for online projects to help community broadcasters improve quality and reach.

This round is for projects starting from June 2015, with up to $60,000 available in 2014/15 (one application per organisation).

The guidelines are a bit vague because of this category’s deliberately wide application, but CBF says the Online Grants Advisory Committee (OGAC) will give priority to innovative projects that aim to future-proof community broadcasting and benefit multiple broadcasters, especially if they are licensed and made available via open source.

Community radio stations with an annual income of less than $150,000 can apply for CBF’s new Sustainability & Development – Promote Your Station Grants.

The grants are for up to $2000 to be used for costs related to promotional activity, such as merchandise, venue & equipment hire, and printing of materials.

CMA’s Role in Tech Think Tank

thinktankCMA’s Nathaniel Garvin ran a community broadcasting think tank for the sector’s top techies last month.

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia asked him to facilitate the forum which was held the day before the CBAA conference in Sydney.

47 of community radio’s best technologists attended the think tank including CMA members Stephen Wilkinson and David Webb.

$100,000 in Mission Travel Grants Now Available

Mission Travel Gp_Giving Back 2013_180x232Mission Travel is giving away $100,000 to help Christians pursue the dreams God has given them.

Individuals and organisations can apply for cash amounts of $5000 or $10000, and travel grants for overseas experiences. A ministry training scholarship is also available.

Applications are open Oct 1-25.
