CMAA Partners with Bible Society’s Short Film Project

Dave Jensen StoryThe 200 Stories Project is an opportunity for budding and seasoned short-film makers to share creative stories of transformation, life and light.

2017 marks 200 years of sharing the Bible in Australia. To celebrate this milestone, we’re inviting film makers to help showcase the impact the Bible has had on Australians from all walks of life.

There is one single criteriaeach film must incorporate an Australian communicating a verse from the Bible.

Final film submissions due by 10 February 2017

Australia Presents Prize 2016_300x287Congratulations to Julian Hui from Hong Kong on winning the Australia Presents Prize at the recent International Christian Media Convention in Nashville.

This is the sixth year CMA has taken a delegation to the event, which is hosted by the USA’s National Religious Broadcasters.

Alice Springs Writer Wins MovieGuide Award

Birgit Myaard receives 2nd runner up Kairos prize at 2016 MovieGuide Awards_300x150Congratulations to Australian-based screenwriter Birgit Myaard on winning a $10,000 prize at the 2016 MovieGuide Awards.

Birgit’s script ‘The Hand of a Woman’ won the 2016 Kairos Prize 2nd Runner Up award.

The Kairos Prizes for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays aims to encourage screenwriting newcomers by awarding a total of $50,000 to the top three entries.

Birgit was presented with the award at the annual MovieGuide Awards in LA on February 5th.

In partnership with Arrow Leadership, CMA is offering a $6000 scholarship for this inaugural award. CMA will sponsor one eligible leader from our sector to participate in Arrow Leadership’s Not-For-Profit Executive Leaders Program in 2016.
